Creative Interpretation

Creative Fellows embark on representations of country and reinterpretations of exploration histories.

State Library staff will be engaging with artists/creative fellows and community members  through a number of regional displays and educational programs in communities in Yamaji country, the Western Desert and Ngaanyatjarra Lands. This will culminate in a major exhibition at the State Library in 2019.

Creative Fellow Bill Gannon will be visiting sites along the historical trek between May and June 2018.  Head over to the  Google Map to see which of John Forrest’s 1874 camps Bill may use as inspiration.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST For Yamaji country now closed. Due to community circumstances, expressions of interest for  Ngaanytjarra Lands is open until 31 August 2018.
